What is an Egress window?
Egress windows are large openings that offer a secondary exit in case of an emergency. They can also add more natural light and make your basement feel more inviting. The word "Egress" just means an exit; it’s a place or means of going out.
Why do I need an Egress window?
There are different circumstances which an egress window is required. According to New York state Section R310, "Emergency escape and rescue required.Basements with habitable space and every sleeping room shall have at least one operable emergency and rescue opening. Such opening shall open directly into a public street, public alley, yard or court. Where basements contain one or more sleeping rooms, emergency egress and rescue openings shall be required in each sleeping room, but shall not be required in adjoining areas of the basement."

I could not be more pleased with the job that Manny's egress did! we have been having a lot of work done on our house lately and Manny has been the most professional by far, he is always punctual, thoroughly explains and answers any questions or concerns we had and has made extra accommodations for us with out question, he takes care of everything leaving you with a truly finished job! He also made sure to protect the cleanliness of our newly finished basement by covering everything with plastic and leaving the place cleaner than when he started, something that i could sadly not say all contractors do.
